Our story began in 2012 when our founder, JW, created Avant Sports. It all started with the popularity of fixed gear bikes growing rapidly. JW noticed a major flaw in the market and was steadfast to remedy it. He wanted to create an affordable and well made bike that was priced for the consumer in mind. After 2 bad batches of bikes from overseas manufacturers, JW went back to the drawing board. His family had a very extensive background in manufacturing, so he reached out to them for advice. They inspired him to start his own factory and to create his own products, untethering him from the necessity of relying on other manufacturers, something that had never been done before.
This drive towards innovation has lead JW to the creation of three major brands: Aventon, 6KU, and Populo bikes. From the performance centered Aventon brand to the consumer centered 6KU line. JW created his newest brand Populo in 2016, his first venture into the electric bike market. Avant Sports is a leader in quality, precision engineering, and efficient manufacturing procedures. All of these factors add up so that Avant Sports can offer a superior product to our consumer at a competitive price point.
